PROTECTING KELP FOREST
We envision the protection of kelp forests globally.
MasKelp is a non-profit organization with the mission of protecting kelp forest ecosystems globally through science, capacity building, and communication.
We partner with scientists, civil society members, government agencies, and local communities from Latin America, to support the protection of kelp forests.
We combine different scientific tools to identify gaps in the conservation of kelp forests to promote science-based policy changes. We also support capacity building by training scientific divers, kelp mappers, and conservation scientists.
To raise global and local awareness for kelp forests, we communicate our findings through underwater photography, videography, storytelling, and scientific publications.
